The festival shows márkosámi culture, as well as art and culture from all around Sápmi. It is important to preserve the sami culture with it’s traditional values. It is also imporant to develop the art and culture and be innovative. At Márkomeannu you will get the best sami art- and culture experiences - and it is said that the atmosphere is uniqe.
What is Márkomeannu?
Márkomeannu is a sami festival at Gállogieddi on the Norwegian side of Sápmi. The festival has a clear sami profile, and Márkomeannu presents sami artists with different cultural expressions from all over Sápmi. The program is varied, and you can find music, visual arts, stage performances, literature, seminars, sports, hiking, market, childrens - and youths program.
